Stornoway Ferry Terminal

This is the Ferry Terminal at Stornoway. A fairly unusual design it could easily be mistaken for a modern creation of the 1990s when it was built.

In fact, it is modelled on the old Stornoway Fish Market which was built in Victorian times and demolished in the late 1960s. It housed the offices of the various fish merchants who would bid for the fish which were displayed by the fisherman in the central hall of the octagonal building.
