Living, as I do, in an urban environment, surrounded by buildings and with little or no view from the windows, one day can seem very much like another.
Spending time on the Isle of Lewis in a house with a fabulous view one appreciates the difference it makes to one's approach to life.
Each and every day is different - the clouds and the view make it so. Irrespective of whether the sun comes up or the mist is down the view is unique and unpredictable every day. The light and shadow passing across the landscape fluctuate constantly. Sometimes the mainland mountains can be seen, sometimes they are hidden by clouds. And the very clouds themselves are never the same from one minute to the next. So every moment is different in appearance and that in turn makes one's outlook varied. No two days are the same.
