The Ten Commandments

The First Law set by God in stone
reads Worship Me, and Me alone!
The next says Idols are profane;
the Third, don’t take my Name in vain;
the Fourth says keep the Seventh Day free;
the Fifth; treat Parents properly;
the Sixth says Murdering is wrong
(you knew the Seventh all along)*;
the Eighth is crystal clear on Thieving;
as is the Ninth, on Not Deceiving;
and now the last of all His laws –
don’t Covet things that are not yours.
James Muirden “The Rhyming Bible”

*(The seventh was Thou shalt not commit adultery)

  1. We often point the finger at others as lawbreakers... yet number ten seems to get overlooked. You know, that one on coveting. Hmmm...

    Easier to point the finger (at them) instead of pointing the thumb (at me).
