No Award For Photographic Excellence !

Each Sunday I normally give an award to one of my favourite blogging photographers. The recipient is welcome to display the award on their blog but is equally welcome not to do so. There is no passing on or writing deep secrets necessary. It is simply an acknowledgement from me of how much I have appreciated the person’s photographs. The person I would have chosen to give it to today is Lynda Lehmann. Her photos are brilliant. However, Lynda is not an Award person - something I can quite sympathise with - so today I am not giving an award (unless Lynda changes her mind!!!) but I am strongly recommending you pay her blog a visit!

in poarticular I suggest her Country Dreams posting - the second photo looks as though it should be in a Big Victorian frame - it is the perfect country scene.

So today's Photographic Excellence Award does not go to Lynda Lehmann!

  1. I was wondering why you weren't giving out your wonderfully encouraging award :)

Very cute and kind, but I'd have thought nothing less of you.

  3. Hello. Pleased to meet you. I believe we recently shared a mention by Granny.
I hope you don't mind if I stick around; I have enjoyed reading your posts and would very much like to read more.

  4. Very sad to learn that Meek is so unwell. Please give your gorgeous puss-cat some very gentle, loving strokes and caresses from me,

  6. Hi Scriptor Senex, or John if I may from your profile.
I am always delighted to meet another northerner, Lancastrian I believe from Granny.
I live in Bristol now where I have been living for most of my life but my roots are around the Liverpool area.
Granny has recommended you to appear on The Sunday Roast column and I would be delighted if you would agree.
    Please contact me on email:
thesundayroasting@googlemail.com and I'll tell you all about it although I believe you have seen Marian's interview. Best wishes ~ Eddie

I'm just off to see Lynda's photos

  7. As always, off I went to see where I mustn't go, and have spent quite some time at Lynda's place. Well deserved mention there John.
Oh about the Liverpool/Lancashire status. To me living in Southport, Liverpool was but a few minutes train journey. I still cannot think of it as Merseyside or Cheshire or whatever other label it may have. When I first ventured south I was always told I must be from Liverpool as my accent was just like the Beatles. I still lapse into that brogue when I visit 'home'.
    Love Granny

  8. Thanks for directing me to the Country Dreams site. You're right - that second one deserves a large Victorian frame and a place over the sideboard.
A belated Happy Birthday to you!

  9. Scriptor Senex, you are TOOOOO much! I will have to disavow and dis-accept the award you wouldn't have given me!

But thank you so much for disqualifying me in accordance with my stated attitude! At least SOMEONE reads what's in my sidebar!!!

Now I will have to post it with an award that someone else recently gave me, that I kind of shied away from. It's just that I want to (mutually) pay attention to CONTENT. After all, it's not like we all have infinite time on our hands..., is it?

But I'm so honored that you have NOT given me this award in this way! (***BIG WINK***)

    THANKS! :)

  10. Scriptor Senex - I looked for an email address so I could email you instead of posting this as a comment, but I could not find one.

I'm panicking, because my time is so crowded and agenda so full. I'm a SLOW blogger even without other obligations and preoccupations, and I have received awards from three people this week! As you know, I state on my page that I don't have time for these extras, and now I have moved it higher on the page and "bolded" the title.

Would you be upset if I declined the award after I said I would accept it? I find I just can't do the extra work/posts and all those links.

But I very much appreciate your thinking of me. I value meeting interesting, intelligent and nice people on the blogosphere, but I think I'd better keep to basic blogging however, and avoid the memes and extras.

I know your future doesn't depend on my acceptance or declination, lol, but I wanted to run it past you.

I empathize with your health issues. It's scary getting older, isn't it? I'll be 60 in May, so I think I have an inkling by virtue of age, as well as my own issues.

    My best regards,

    Lynda Lehmann

  11. Absolutely no problem Lynda - I simply wanted to direct people to your excellent blog and am happy that I seem to have done so.
    Kind regards,
    John
(And you are right - I don't have an email address on display. I try to keep e-mails and blogging separate but I apologise when it creates a problem.)

I'm so happy to have met such nice people on the Blogosphere.

    I'll be back...
