Friday My Town Shoot-out - Skylines
This week's subject for the Friday My Town Shoot-out is Skylines chosen by Kate. Why not pay her a visit and see her skylines.
Once again, I have chosen to delve back into my archives and show photos mostly taken in the 1960s in Liverpool with the River Mersey in the foreground- possibly one of the most famous man-made skylines in the world.

very nice, the effect of (is it fog rising) the clouds behind the buildings if very nice. liked all the photos - your colors are sharp and true.
ReplyDeleteGee, one could have fun delving around in your archives! Those are wonderful skylines!
ReplyDeleteAn excellent set here, award yourself your award.
ReplyDeleteYes. Very probably the most iconic and relatively unchanged city skyline there is.
ReplyDeleteSadly, GB, the skyline is now much changed though fortunately the iconic three still stand. If you went on a ferry nowadays you would see some enormous (and objectionable) buildings hemming them in. I must get out there in the summer and take some for comparison.
ReplyDeleteThe first shot is really awesome!
ReplyDeleteQuite simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the third photo down with the buildings reflected in the waters.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to come along with Pauline and ramble through your archives!
Gone to the hospital? Might like the food and stay? I hope that you don't like the food.
ReplyDeleteThese are all photos that you'd find in a magazine. Magnificent!!
Oh there is nothing like a skyline reflected in the water. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteReminded me of that wonderful TV series, The Liver Birds, with Polly James and Nerys Hughes. I loved them!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I'm pleased there's an improvement in your car's health.
ReplyDeleteSecondly: I am a lover of photographs of buildings and skylines so it was with eager eyes that I studied your pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Stunning pictures, Scriptor!
ReplyDeleteBandersnatch and Sienne and Natalie all send their best wishes to Meek. They'd like to send a shrew they caught yesterday, but it's a little worse for the wear and I figured you'd only want nice fresh food for your furry one.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well and that you're home safe from the hospital. Take care,

In the sixties Liverpool did have one of the most famous skylines in the world but sadly times have changed. Your photographs are a great reminder of how things used to be!
ReplyDeleteWow! What fantastic buildings! They just don't build them like that anymore! Down & dirty these days, I suppose. Awesome photos!!!
ReplyDeletewow! these are breath taking! love the reflections. have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteScriptor, your shots were great. The first one should be a postcard.
ReplyDeleteI like the reflections on the water.
