One cannot live a day without tea

.A post for Partner-who-loves-tea....

“There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea”
Bernard-Paul Heroux

“If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are too heated, it will cool you; if you are depressed, it will cheer you; if you are excited, it will calm you.”

William E. Gladstone Prime Minister (1868-1894)

“Drinking tea quenches thirst, relieves indigestion, clears the throat, reduces sleepiness, soothes waterway, brightens eyesight, promotes thinking, eliminates anguish and cuts down grease. One cannot live a day without tea.”

  1. I love all these quotes about tea.
When we come back from England, we are loaded down with Yorkshire tea and English chocolate. Love the pretty tea mug too!

  2. A tad overstated I would have thought. Obviously biased teadrinkers to a man. Cuts down grease! Must baste the goose in it next Christmas.

  3. When I was sinking in the sea of grief, I would call my elderly neighbor Alice and she would say "Come on over-I'm putting the kettle on." I use to believe that I was helping her out doing little chores for her, but really she was saving me. Never underestimate the power of companionship over a hot cup of tea.
Every afternoon I have tea and it always taste better if you drink it from a beautiful cup-such as the one pictured.

  4. Amen! Coffee is much over-rated and never tastes as good as it smells. (Eat your heart out Starbucks!) :0)

  6. "Welcome. Please come in. The kettle's on. Would you like tea or coffee?"

I read this and was instantly drawn into your blog,a very warm invitation.

Mine's an Earl Grey, very weak, no sugar.

  7. Donna - I liked your line "Never underestimate the power of companionship over a hot cup of tea. ". I couldn't agree more.

SP - I'm a pleb and like straightforward English breakfast tea (i.e. the cheap stuff) but since my brother, GB, is an Earl Grey drinker we always have it available! If you're ever on Merseyside...

  8. I have a beloved cushion with the Union flag on it with, "Where there is tea, there is hope" emblazoned upon it - So true - Love to you both!

My course, as you asked about it, Sir, is a two year diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, recognised by BACP and UKCP, or whatever it's calling itself now. Basic grounding is in Transactional Analysis, but it has broadened considerably since last year...

Not sure if it's the same course that She Who Loves Tea did, but I am enjoying it and I'm hopeful that it leads to meaningful and (paid!) work in time, Sir! My best to you all - Well done on starting on your loft - You are brave! De-cluttering must be in the air as I'm about to start on my wardrobe(s)!
