J is for - Jumping for Joy

It's Wednesday - that means another letter of the alphabet.  Today's letter is J.

I'll start with a Juicy strawberry -

And how about Jackdaws

These Jackdaws are doing a Ballet.

Or a beautiful Jellyfish.

Or this Jewel-like Chrysolna Beetle nameed after the semi-precious stone chrysolite.

And J is for Joke - I assume that's what caused this reaction -

If you would like to see more examples of how the letter J has been handled by the Alphabet Wednesday crew please visit the ABC link site.

  4. Love your J postings! Re: your comment on my blog today about snowdrops, I googled the Latin name you gave (visibaba)and came up with photos showing flowers like mine. Then I google-translated 'visibaba' (what the flowers are in Serbian) and came up with 'snowdrop. Are you perhaps thinking of Edelweiss?

  9. Hello Bibi - no not Edelweiss. Our snowdrops (Galanthius nivalis) look different but perhaps there sre more than one sort. Ours have green spots in the middle and seem to have shorter petals than yours but perhaps it's just the angle.

  10. What a variety you managed to come up with. I had difficulties thinking of anything at all for this week. And oh you make me long for the strawberry season... three months or so away still...!
