Plastic Bottles
Photographer Chris Jordan makes works of photographic art which turn cold, hard statistics into provocative statements on the American way of life. This one is called "Plastic Bottles" and represents the 2 million plastic bottles used in the US every five minutes! It is 10 feet across and 5 feet high and was created in 2007. Jordan piled 400 bottles on his driveway and photographed them. He then stirred them around again and carried on taking photos. It then took him three weeks of ten-hour days on Photo-shop to create the finished article. He decribed it as "The most labor-intensive image I have made."
This is a close up of part of the final image.
More of his work can be seen on portfoloio.com
