John Who?
Mark recently did a Blog posting on his name and how many Mark Greenwoods there were in his field. Some time ago I had Googled my name to see what I came up with. I discovered quite a few folk on the web who hold or have held the name John Edwards.
They include:-
Adulterer, idiot, former US presidential candidate, and Senator for N Carolina.
A renowned expert on the Spanish Inquisition.
A hair stylist.
The editor of a version of "The Roman Cookery of Apicius".
A singer in the American group "The Spinners".
Author of a series of "Small Books on the History of Embroidery".
Joint author of "Decision Making with Computers: Spreadsheet and Beyond".
A painter and sculptor.
A Catholic leader of retreats and missions.
A lecturer in engineering at Loughborough University.
A Professor and Deputy Dean at Aston Business School.
The Editor of the Daily Mail on-line.
Author of "Language in Canada".
Lieut.-Col. and Deputy Lieutenant of Wicklow in the mid 19th century.
Musician and co-former of The Pointy Birds.
Author of "Reforming Catholicism In The England Of Mary Tudor".
Please, please note that the internationally acclaimed psychic medium John Edward does not have an 's' on the end of his name. His real name is John Edward McGee, Jr. (born October 19, 1969). He is best known for his TV shows Crossing Over with John Edward and John Edward Cross Country, which are premised on Edward performing as a psychic medium who attempts to communicate with the spirits of the audience members' deceased relatives. Despite the lack of an 's' I frequently get e-mails for him - at least, judging by their content they are intended for him - presumably he has the domain john-edward.com.
(Nor am I the currently unconscious John Edwards, 58, who needs a blood transfusion but whose wife Sheila insists he would not want the life-saving procedure as it is against their religious beliefs. )
