This is Friday’s My Town Shoot-out whose theme this week is relaxation
courtesy of Lena. Why not pay Lena a visit as a thank you for the suggestion?
Never really being sure of where ‘my town’ is I have nevertheless tried to concentrate on my immediate neighbourhood (Wirral, Cheshire, UK) this week.
Coffee bars are one of my favourite places to relax.
Coffee for me and tea for Jo!
Some people relax by or after shopping!
Or take their dog for a walk.
Go for a drive in the countryside.
Or go for a bike ride.
Hookahs provide relaxation for some – Birkenhead market.
The local pub is a major source of relaxation for many. These two are in Birkenhead.
And if you don’t want to stay in my town –you can have a canal boat holiday,
or try the travel agents and visit one of the other bloggers!!!
Thank you for joining me around the Wirral this week.

oooh, I love love love that espresso clock!
ReplyDeleteI like to relax in cafes too - the cafes in Europe are SO much better than American ones.
I don't know why...
I absolutely ADORE a good coffee bar - especially with comfy seats and WIFI. I also like a good pub. Seems like I'd enjoy 'your town' just fine.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Your part of the world is gorgeous. Chocolate huh? How about pickles? Any craving for pickles?
ReplyDeleteAh yes. That was a pretty comprehensive roundup. I notice you didn't include blogging!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of relaxation. THanks for sharing them
ReplyDeleteHookas?? hahaha - I have never heard them called that. Here in Vermont, those are referred to as bongs and provide, along with relaxtions, idiotic behavior in some - hahahaha :)
ReplyDeleteI recall finding these in my brothers bedroom when I was a wee little girl. He wasn't too relaxed when he got home and found out that I had carried them to mommy asking her what they were. My brother was 10 years older than I was, so I really had NO clue what they were...but they were pretty :)
Oh...and I forgot to make a comment about the rest of your photos. Now we know where that wiped out shopper came from.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job sharing the theme this week :)
Hi, nice post! I'll take the canal trip, thanks!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the photo of the shopping lady - my son and I love to shop together. This has become a time when he shares so much about whats going on in his life. really enjoyable! Cafes are fantastic too! love those European coffee bars.
ReplyDeleteI really like the shot you got of the biker - you town seems pretty cool :)
ReplyDeleteI just love the clock and the mural. nice little look around where you live. very beautiful and full of little treasures. Great shoot out Scriptor!!
ReplyDeleteA cup of coffee and a walk with the dog (down to the pub). What could be more relaxing?
ReplyDeleteI have to say you live in a beautiful part of the world!
Such lovely photos. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe Canadian Chickadee
You have such a knack for finding the beauty around us. Thank you for sharing your photos. BTW, regardng the word 'ilk.' I thought you might like Ogden Nash's poem about it:
ReplyDelete'A cow is of the bovine ilk
One end is moo and the other is milk.'
Have a great day!
The Canadian Chickadee
I'd love to relax in your town. Good stepping off place for my canal boat holiday, you think? I'm having a mini holiday right now! Great shoot!

ReplyDeleteI'll take a venti iced coffee, no classic, with room. :) I love coffee, especially if I can sit back and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI did not read your comments yet, but I had to take a double take on the hookah photo! Nice, and I mean it...really nice post!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to try a canal boat for a while now - maybe someday I can holiday that way!
