Pancake Tuesday
Today is Shrove Tuesday and during the morning news programme one of the presenters went out into the street and asked people how did they make pancakes. Most people hadn’t got a clue but the best answer by far was the middle aged man who said “It’s something to do with eggs, flour, butter, water and a mummy.”
This is ‘my’ recipe which I think came originally from a Delia Smith book. As with most other recipes the first pancake out of the pan ain’t so good because no matter how little fat you think you’ve put in it’s too much. After that things usually go swimmingly. Lots of sugar and lemon juice and Bob’s your uncle.
