Frosty

 

It was a bit frosty last night! Not quite like this though. These photos are from the 1960s when winters really were winters – not the soggy virtual winters we get nowadays. Last night was a mere -2°.




I remember when the pipes froze every winter, the bedroom windows had frost patterns on them many times each year, icicles six to nine inches long hung from the gutters.... Ah, the good old days.

  1. If you asked me what most people of my generation in the UK remember most about their childhood frost on the window panes would always be included in the list. Double glazing and hardwood and UPVC window frames have (thankfully) long since made that a distant memory.
