The weather has been horrible today. The roads were icy and we had very heavy and large hail, alternating with a bit of snow and a bit of rain. Add the wind and it’s been really yucky.
So much to do as Christmas approaches. A lengthy hospital appointment (semi-routine) for Jo took up this morning. I had volunteered to keep her company as we both anticipated it only taking half an hour. How naive can you get?
Also been doing the shopping today. Apart from the lamb joint (our traditional Christmas Day Roast), if it’s not in the house now we won’t be having it. That’s one advantage of making one’s own bread.
Now it’s off to bed for a read and an early night.
Sleep well!

ReplyDeletesweet dreams..
I'm sorry your weather has been so yucky. It really does take the shine off things when it's so cold and wet and windy.
ReplyDeleteYour lamb roast for Christmas dinner sounds wonderful. Roast lamb is one of my favourite dinners. We are having the traditional turkey. We will be thinking of you on the day, and sending a toast your way. Hope you and Jo and all the family will have a wonderful day.
Last night we went down to our daughter's house and she served roast beef with homemade Yorkshire puddings, and all the trimmings, including Christmas crackers. (Arlene may be only half English, but she's very British at heart!) We had a wonderful time with her family and their friends the Shields who shared the evening with us.
May you and Jo and all the family have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed and peaceful New Year. Take care and God bless,
The Canadian Chickadee & The English Robin
You shame me John. Been putting off Christmas so off I'll toddle to the farmers market today and see what serendipity throws my way. Have a good one.
ReplyDeleteYou can never be sure how much time will be spent at hospitals.
ReplyDeletePopped in to wish you a Merry Christmas, now I'm sure I can smell roasting lamb.
Happy holiday.
No snow here. The shopping is done and now I have to get through ten hours at work. Six hours today and four tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010! And greetings from Finland! :)
