The Last Rose of Summer
‘Tis the last rose of summer
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone.......

Haven't visited your blog for some time - this hose moving thing has turned our life kinda upside down, and much less time for blogging:(
ReplyDeleteHow fitting! And then I saw this writing was from Thomas Moore. The father of one of my friends (also an author), was friends with Thomas Moore. Really like his writings.
The color is so bright and beautiful, isn't it? So sad to see summer die...
ReplyDeleteI think it may be a different Thomas Moore, Jeanette. This one was an Irish poet, singer, songwriter and entertainer who lived from 1779-1852. See Thomas Moore
ReplyDeleteI just checked my e-mail and found your comments. Thank you so very much! I'm not quite sure how you found me but I'm thankful that you did!! I'll be perusing through your blog(s) a little more lol...I knew I was in for some awesome reading when I found Lewis Carroll quotations at the top of this one. I am honored-new friend- and once again, thank you!
