This week's subject for the Friday My Town Shoot-out is park landscapes - chosen by Jarielyn from Nevada. Why not pay her a visit and see her parks.
I have chosen to delve back into my archives and show photos mostly taken in the 1960s in Calderstones Park, Liverpool. UK.
If you would like to see other members' shoot-outs please go to the home blog and visit the members in the sidebar.

The gardens are lovely -- even the snowy ones, though I'm not really a snowbird in spite of being born on the Canadian prairies....
ReplyDeleteAnd guess what? Today (Oct. 30th) is my birthday, and no, Scriptor, I won't tell you how old I am! :0)
It's also the birthday of my "twin," my sweet and wonderful sister-in-law who lives in Essex, and who shares the same birthday, though we were born in different countries in different years.
Hope you have a good weekend and that little Meek the kitty is okay.

Are those photos really from the 60s? Hard to believe! I love the snow covered park shots, maybe because I've never actually seen such a sight. Maybe one day!
ReplyDeleteAaaaahhhh Calderstones in the 60's - many happy memories - I used to go there with my mum, little brother and aunts and cousins - carefree days !
ReplyDeleteThere is something magical about snow scenes! It looks like a different place.
ReplyDeleteThe English gardens are divine! The gardeners are very good about developing groves of trees that look restful and beautiful. The buildings always have architectural details that add elegance. These are lovely pictures! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from Barry and Linda
WOW!! these are beautiful! love the snow scenes, it will be coming here soon. have a great weekend!! the first shot is my fav though.
ReplyDeleteNice place! I like the snow shots although in the midst of January I might not feel that way. But for now I think it is still safe to say that.
ReplyDeleteNice landscapes, all sharing a wonderous intrigue to the lookers.
ReplyDeleteI really like your snowy shots :) - oh and the squirrel too.
Wonderful! English parks are definitely "done right."
ReplyDelete;^)
Beautifully photographed, as always. I think parks were made for your camera!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, being Canadian we hate being reminded of the snows to come this early in the season!

It's a small world, Jan. Glad to have revived some memories for you.
ReplyDeleteWonderful memories CJ. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your photos. The snow scenes are gorgeous and remind me of Christmas depicted in movies and on cards. It's hard to believe that most of these were taken in the 60's. They look very modern.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't resist a visit in order to see your park pics. (And I wasn't disappointed.) Parks are so much fun to photograph. (The people add interest as well.)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the cat. Meek looks like one of my two cats: Taco. But one of Taco's cheeks are tan.
lovely pictures (as always) especially the ones with snow.
ReplyDeleteI love your perspective on our assignments, and of course you live in a wonderful place, so of course your shots I would love!
