On Friday Partner-who-loves-tea and I went down the Isle of Harris.

    1. I don't know, GB. But as long as you are there you are guaranteed visits from your brother who enjoys not only the Island but also your splendid hospitality.

    2. If it was as easy as just moving there, I'd have been there ages ago! Unfortunately, government prevents us from just doing what we'd like. The hard part would not be moving there, but finding (and landing) a job first that would enable one to afford to live... until then, we lovers of Scotland over here in NY just have to live vicariously through blogs and BBC!

What kind of animals are those with blue stripes on their backs in the last photo? Fascinating.

    1. The blue on the sheep fleeces are dye. It is used for various reasons - to show they have been mated or been through the sheep wash (or dipp[ed) or itmay simply be an ownership mark.

  8. Lovely pictures John. We have visitors from Thursday for one week so we will be "doing the trail" again. It is so beautiful down there so it is no hardship doing the trip once again.
It was lovely to see both you and Jo - look forward to your next trip up here.

  10. What a beautiful place! Of course when I think of a beach I think of sunning and swimming. The water looks so pretty and the sand so white but from the looks of it I'm thinking that it's not a swimming destination! Glad you both were able to go and enjoy the time and take such wonderful photos!
