Friday My Town Shoot-out - Country Lanes

This week's subject for the Friday My Town Shoot-out is country lanes - chosen by Gordon from Florida.    These were all taken along a couple of mile section of lane on the Lleyn Peninsula, North Wales.

  2. Hey there! I feel like taking a nature trip in one of these roads! It's a great time to be appreciating nature amidst the major climate change.

I really like the 4th shot, good capture. It's like telling a story, that's beautiful picture.

  3. Apart from the last picture there is a remarkable similarity to some of New Zealand. Perhaps that's why I feel quite at home in both places.

Then we come to the last picture. That is where the two countries vary greatly. There are hardly any old buildings in New Zealand by European standards.

  4. I love how your roads go thisaway and thataway and end at that beautiful old building. GB is right, we just don't see buildings that old. Maybe we hadn't been settled when they were built.

  9. Absolutely beautiful. I wonder how fast people travel on them, and what happens when two large vehicles meet.

  10. Great FSO post. I am trying to learn and each week I realize something else to help make my FSO better. I need to keep in mind different themes as I am only out one day a week in my town and extended neighborhood. If I wait too close to Friday chances are it is raining or too cloudy for good pics. Thanks for stopping by my NOTW. I love the last picture with the old building. Thanks for sharing.

  11. It's really very hilly there isn't it? And so green, except for the white sheep dotting the hillside! Picture-perfect in every way.

  14. Thanks Nan, most of the lanes are 'desrestricted' which means that the speed limit is 60 m.p.h. but the majority of traffic drives sebnsibly and between 25 and 35 is around the average.
When two vehicles meet one sometimes has to back up - often quite a way though there are usually field gateways that can be used for one to get itselef largely off the road.
Queenmothermamaw - I don't always get the chance to take photos during the relevant week in which case I fall back on photos I've taken over the years. I think that's quite valid and I notice a few other people do it but your idea of trying to keep an eye open for the next few weeks' themes is a good one.

  15. Oh I love how you say 'Country Lanes' and I can imagine your accent :)

I was in Ireland for a month, gosh, now it seems like ages ago, but I did get stop on a path by sheep, and then by cows crossing the road, and it was classic, but then I did not have a digital camera to document that beautiful country on your side of the pond, I love it, your photos are always breath taking!

  19. This look like New Zealand. No wonder the early British settlers were happy coming to New Zealand.

Those 3 lambs is so familiar. Once, we drove past a black lamb, I was tempted to get my husband stop the car, and take the lamb.
