Thirteen Things to
Avoid
1. Angry people (especially if their
anger is justified)
2. Testing blades with one’s fingers
3. Stopping the car on a level crossing
4. Starting an addictive habit
5. Touching wires without first checking
they don’t carry a current
6. Driving the wrong way up a one way
street
7. Working too long without a break
8. Excessively huge expectations
9. Being too late
10. Watching soap operas
11. Migraines
12. Body odour (your and other people’s)
13. Low flying saucers
Migraines are at the very top of my list of things to avoid. Too bad it isn't always possible. Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteI agree entirely, Heather. If I had put them in priority order they would have been on mine. It must have been a good day when I drew up the list or it would have automatically come to mind.
DeleteI concur with your list. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe Food Temptress
indeed a great list
ReplyDeleteI'm especially in agreement w/ the avoidance of low-flying saucers, have the scalp scars to back it up.
ReplyDeleteWow - that was low!
DeleteThat's quite a list of things to avoid, and I agree with all, with the exception of #10 (you gotta at least follow one soap opera).
ReplyDeleteAs for #13 if you're seeing flying saucers, low or otherwise, you'd better stay away from whatever is influencing those sightings. Stick to drinking tea like Jo.
I left it open to interpretation as to whether they were low flying-saucers or saucers that were low flying. I'm glad you chose the former option and didn't automatically think of Jo throwing her saucers at me!
DeleteIt reads as a poem I love the whimsical ending. I read it as flying saucers!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Heather -- migraines would be number one. A close second would be stopping on a level crossing -- being hit by a train has been a lifelong nightmare for me, though I'm not sure why. Maybe it was growing up on the Alberta prairies and seeing the one-hundred car grain trains rocket along the tracks. Scary.
ReplyDeleteHmm. How many low flying saucers have you seen lately? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteNot a lot!
DeleteYes especially to angry people. They bring me down.
ReplyDeleteI watched English soaps during those few hours I had to be inside hotels while visiting the UK a few years back :) It would have been addictive. I miss England!
ReplyDeleteHazel
What a good idea for a list, yuo can guarantee thirteen....at least :-)
ReplyDeleteYou missed off midges - now they are a good thing to avoid.
ReplyDeleteThat's true! And Clegs as well!
DeleteHa, Ha! These are all good things to avoid. I'm thinking I would add the bathroom scale too :-)
ReplyDeleteI never thought of that because Partner-who-loves-tea threw ours out a long time ago!!
