In the days when we had two cars and all the trees were small.
This cherry tree now reaches the gutter despiote being cut back a few times.
I like our old gate.
Not a day for sitting out in the front garden!

Glad to see you back Scriptor. Your front gate is very much like my grandmother's 'way back in the 40's. We used to swing on it and it had the name Craig y Don carved on it. It was a big old house with a small orchard of apple and plum trees, a few chickens and ducks, red currants and black currants and a patch where they grew celery and rhubarb. All gone now. That was Bushey, Hertfordshire. Hope Ivy has turned up! Keep well. We need intelligent and informative blogs.
ReplyDeleteLove that last photo SS. I am watching a British TV series "Midsomer Murders." I just love the cottages and British estates. You have one just like them. I love gates. We don't have one but I have always wanted one just for the effect.

I never realised how fast cherry trees grew till I planted one from a pip. It is now quite towering. the one opposite has grown up to the top of a 5 storey block, and that's after pruning!!!

ReplyDeleteWe are having major issues with our gardens. My dad planted all these fruit trees and the garden will take long to gain structure. So looking at these neat photos encourages me! :D
