The Gordale Nursery Fun Day last weekend included a display of birds of prey.
Barn Owl (Tyto alba)
Spotted Eagle Owl (Bubo africanus)
Southern White-faced Owl (Ptilopsis granti)
Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus)
A crossbred Falcon (a cross between a Peregrine and Barbary Falcon)

The pictures of the owls are absolutely beautiful. The barn owl especially -- its feathers look as if they are painted on. You really do take the most amazing photos. Thanks for another wonderful post.

Whenever I see a photo of an owl, I re-experience the first bird I ever spotted during an official field trip out birding. I thought the owl was debris that had gotten lodged in a tree until I was told to look through my binoculars and realized I was looking at a majestic bird!
