Partner-who-loves-tea and I are having a ten
day break, beginning with a week on a dairy farm in Somerset.
On the way down last Saturday we started off
in mist but since then it has been sunny (though chilly) and the autumn colours
of the trees are splendid.
Our first stop was Church Stretton in
Shropshire where I had a delightful cheese scone in Jemima’s Tea Shop.
We then spent a fortune in the local delicatessen.
This shop also sold ethical clothing which P-W-L-T showed great
self-control by only buying one jacket.
Looks & sounds like a great October holiday - and much the same kind of weather and colours that we've been having around here in Sweden.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are on the road again, You Two. Not only do you find interesting places to visit, but you take great photos, and then write the best travel blogs!
ReplyDeleteSafe journey, McGregor
So happy to hear that you and Jo are taking a break...enjoy your holiday.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely place in which to start a holiday! Entertaining Elephants is the most unique food shop name i've ever encountered.
ReplyDeleteAh, I have fond memories of a cheese scone with Irish butter...so good.
ReplyDeleteI think I want to go shopping with Jo!
Thanks for the pictures! I wish we had tea shops in the US as they always seem so cozy and quaint. Have a nice break!
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely! Great time of year for an adventure! Ok, what is ethical clothing? Enjoy your trip and I hope you post more beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteEthical clothing is that which has been made in conditions where the workers are paid a living wage. I'm sure there's more to it than that - perhaps another reader can explain better.
DeleteThe first picture is breathtakingly beautiful, John!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to see more of your ten-day-break.
Beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteChurch Stretton sounds as if it has the kind of shops I like !
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holiday!
