On Wednesday Partner and I went to The North Clwyd Animal Rescue Centre to pick up our cats.
Or was it a case of 'On Wednesday Annabel and Mac collected their new human trainees'? Either way, the two kitties were brought to The Willows.
They settled in in no time.
Mac decided to investigate the cat toys in their bin.
Annabel, like me, has proved to be a fan of quiz shows.
It helped their settling in that they had received their very own card -
First Annabel had a look at it.
Then Mac.
After an hour of exploring the lounge Annabel decided to demonstrate she was a lap cat.
She also showed she needed her claws clipping. Having played with her paws a bit I think she may let me do them in a day or two.
Mac is a bit more remote. He is more than happy to have a stroke and be played with. But he doesn't stay on one's lap for more than a moment or two.
You will no doubt be seeing plenty more of our cats in the not too distant future but don't worry, I shall try to make my next post a bit more of a ramble.

Oh I love them already and what fantastic photos with the card. Apologies that Misty and Roland didn't sign it - I only thought of that after I put it in the postbox. They do send their hellos.
ReplyDeleteRoland is not a knee cat and sometimes that can be a blessing - hopefully Mac will learn to sit right next to you as Roland does and then you can actually put something on your knee at the same time (I was thinking of a book or laptop, but in this house it usually ends up being Misty).
Can't wait to meet them, xx
Hooray! There are cats in the house again! Annabel and Mac already look very much at home, don't they. I hope the claw-clipping goes well; I've never had any of my cats' claws clipped but imagine it to be somewhat scary. When I still lived with my parents at our old house, the leather settee was the instrument of choice for our cats to take care of their claws. Here, Pukky used the cherry tree in front of the house and the door mat.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new members of your family! They are adorable and look very much at home. Enjoy them and I know they will bring you tons of fun and comfort.
ReplyDeleteThey seem like they are adapting very well. So nice to have fur babies in the house.
ReplyDelete...welcome home Mac and Anabell...so they look and they feel good, like you all feel good to have them around..so great, so lovely to see...have a great time together

Hey, I like your new family members; I think they chose you and now are at work training you. That is how cats are. I have long admired cats with orange coats and also with spots. We have a grey cat, and often have brown tabbies.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking of you earlier and hoping the cat-adoption had gone according to plan! Pleased for you that it seems to be working out well! The cats look happy, and so do you. :)
ReplyDeleteoh did you realize that Anabel has two hearts? ..look at your 7th taken photo ;o)

Hi Susanne - well spotted.
DeleteHow exciting to have two new household members! I know you will all enjoy each others company!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you'll all be very happy together.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see the new family members settling in and sorting out the pecking order. I just love the shot of Annabel looking at her card as if it might have to be dispatched. Don't know about your other followers but I'm happy to watch their settling in period, please include them in your rambles.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have them home. I'm sure they will bring you hours of delight. Annabel is a true feline beauty and Mac looks to have a bit of male machismo in his face. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing! From another cat lover.
ReplyDeleteThat's impressive, your cats already have fan mail!
ReplyDeleteThey both look so sweet. Give each one a nice stroke under the chin for me, my cat always liked that. xx
Books, cats, the people we love, your home is complete.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see them so settled so quickly, especially Annabel who seems very content on your lap. I love the photo of her watching the quiz show..
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful! I'm sure they'll be wonderful companions for you all. xoxox
