Purple has always held a special place in my heart. For one thing, it's the school colour of both the high school and the university I attended.
Yesterday I found the loveliest purple thistle growing along the edge of the road, picked a sprig and brought it home to put in a vase. A tiny reminder of Scotland, on a windowsill thousands of miles away.
Talking of purple - God must be thrilled with me 'cos all I have done lately is try and take pictures of the purple heather. You left a week too soon - the heather is beautiful at the moment - the best I have seen in the 6+ years we have lived on Lewis.
