The Brecon Beacons

Our holiday cottage is in the Brecon Beacons National Park, a mix of mountains, woods, moorland, and old industrial workings.

Above is the view across the valley.

And various places around the Brecon Beacons.

  1. Until now, I've only known the Breacon Beacons from bottles of mineral water... Never been in this part of the UK before. It looks like a great place for a holiday! Are those mounds man-made, maybe leftover slack heaps, or natural formations?

    1. Yes, Meike, they are waste heaps from the iron works.

  2. I really should start exploring Britain again. It's years since I was down in the Brecon Beacons. Of course the last photo is my favourite despite all the country beauty in the others.

  4. Lovely views. I'm always amazed how much countryside there seems to be in Britain still, in spite of the much denser population compared to Sweden! (Watching a lot of British "Escape to the country" on TV...)
