I am not overly religious but when I wander around cemeteries I love some of the old gravestones - which I must post another day - and some of the marvellous sculptures.
This one of Jesus reminded me of a certain girl in Vermont, one of those bloglong friends to whom he is a great and constant companion.
And, of course, she is an angel! (She must be to run a household of four 'men' - three little and one big.)

I wish I share your enthusiasm regarding graveyard sculptures, but it just freaks me out. Maybe it has something to do with horror movies. XD
ReplyDeleteYou are such a sweetheart :) I'd love to be at the foot of these. They remind me of the one that I captured a few years back, in the cemetery of the town I grew up in.
ReplyDeleteI am not religious at all, but I do love cemeteries, the older the better. And we have one in my town that has an atmosphere that makes me want to spend hours and hours there. Maybe a good idea to do a blog post about it some day. Or have I done that already?
ReplyDeleteI am always fascinated by sculpture because it is amazing how well some pieces depict human beings in stone.
ReplyDeleteI've told Laughing Boy that I want the Brahms Requiem, (Berlin Phil. of course) and a socking great marble statue, with weeping angels tearing their clothes positioned around the base, and a few on top blowing those big long bugles to announce my arrival at the pearly gates.
ReplyDeleteNothing too flash.
