During the 1960s our family spent a number of summer holidays in the Lake District, often staying at Grange in Borrowdale. I have many happy memories of times spent there and when I came across this transparency I once took of the village from the nearby fells I couldn't resist sharing it with you.
Sometimes we stayed with the Roscamp family at Riggside and on other occasions we had rented their self-catering bungalow, Westrigg.
It looks like a wonderful place to visit or live.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! By "transparency" - do you mean what we over here call a "slide"? I'm guessing so.
ReplyDeleteYes, we call them slides as well but I didn't know if other folk would recognise the term. Anyone translating into a foreign language might end up thinking I had slid off the mountain! (Which I once did but that's another story!)
DeleteHow nice to have such, almost tangible, memories of good times spent with the family! It all looks very pretty.
ReplyDeleteNice view. The mention of transparancies reminds me, though, that I have a box full of them down in my basement storage room which I never looked in since my move eight years ago...
ReplyDeleteThat looks so beautiful! I missed your previous posts and I have to say your little Grandson is so adorable! So are your kitties! Hope all is well with you! Spring is only a few weeks away but snow is in the forecast for tomorrow...I guess March is coming in like a lion!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful memories. My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Riggside. Halcyon days. Now it seems like a Halcyon daze.
