Yesterday
was the first day of heavy frost this winter.
It was also icy as a couple of car drivers discovered when their
vehicles failed to stop at a junction and smashed into each other.
Many of the trees are now bare but a few are still showing their autumn glory.
And the berries and fruits are ripe.
The sun helps any season to look good.
So pretty! We had a frost the other morning, but it has warmed up again a bit. Sorry about the accident nearby, i hope no one was hurt.
ReplyDeleteNo, no one was hurt - just a bit shaken up. Both drivers blamed the other but I suspect they both skidded on the ice.
DeleteLove the frosty leaves John. Something we never see around here. I'm back to blogging by the way -- nothing earthshaking happening to report yet -- which is good, because they are telling us that the San Andreas fault up near San Bernardino, about an hour away, is "locked and ready to go" and should be about an 8. But they've been saying that for 30 years or more.
ReplyDeleteI love the first few shots, John. Always think of Jack Frost as biting my toes. The leaves are lovely.
ReplyDeleteOur persimmons are coming ripe. I particularly like that first photo of the frost leaves.
ReplyDeleteWe still have the Autumn glory! Still no rain though but rain is predicted by Wednesday, it will be ...I think 43 days with no rain which breaks a record for Atlanta set in 1884! Let's hope the weather folks are right and we get that rain!
ReplyDeleteYou're right about the sun :) Decided on a lazy indoors day today though, in spite of the sun shining outside. Icy winds shaking the bare branches of the trees...
ReplyDeleteWe were caught out a week ago when our small part of the island was hit by a sudden frost and the morning busses got stuck in Lower Bayble. On the whole our proximity to the sea has given us 'warmer' temperatures than the Scottish mainland during the recent cold spell.
ReplyDeleteHa! I just did an Autumn post, and here I find that you did too! All great minds... something something something. 8-)
ReplyDeleteWe've had some frosty days and even snow but no matter, when the sun shines that blue sky makes it pretty! Your pics are so lovely and really capture that frost! Hope no one was hurt in the crash!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful pictures, and so seasonal!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a frosty night last night, too, and now the sun is out and the sky is of a brilliant blue the kind you never see in the summer.
