The Friday My Town Shoot-out challenge this week is to show
one’s weakness. I wish I only had the
one! Looking through my recent photos I
found a few weaknesses…
Doing crosswords over coffee in the local café at Upton…
Visiting Patisserie Valerie in Chester…
‘Collecting’ post boxes.
This one is in Weobley in Herefordshire and is an ‘anonymous box’ – i.e.
it is one produced for a brief period in the Victorian era and mistakenly had
no crown and cipher on it.
Wearing jewellery – there are times I wish I was a girl and
could wear lots of it. There is so much
attractive jewellery out there.
Watching the doormat, waiting for postcards to arrive….
And selecting postcards to send to my friends…
Having eyes bigger then my tummy as my Mum used to say….

Dear Scriptor,
ReplyDeleteI do deeply and humbly apologize for doubting your honesty regarding the Potoo!! I was sure you were just trying to fool us. But in the end I broke down and Googled it and there it was. The looks of the bird as well as the description of its life style seemed just too far fetched. You are a mine of information and if I lived within a stone's throw I would treat you to one of those cream slices in Patisserie Valerie as penance -- as long as I could have one too.
Now about "My Town Shoot out" -- I think I used to participate in that but I also thought that it ended and i stopped participating. I might consider joining again because I feel that I have to have a prompt to come up with ideas for posting. My creativity is disintegrating. I think I'll have a go if I can get the Linky thing to work right.
Certainly no need to apologise, Chris. As for the link it didn't work when I first posted this so my apologies to you! Hopefully it's working now.
DeleteThose are good weaknesses....nothing to be ashamed about....I have a few of them myself....smile.
ReplyDeleteExcellent weaknesses! At least, as i share a few of them, i will say so.
ReplyDeleteAs for selecting postcards, you're good at anticipating what your friends will like... I'd call that a strength rather than a weakness... :)
ReplyDeleteGood to see you taking part in FSO again, John. I share the coffee weakness and the last one, too. Love that lost shot, I find food really hard to photograph (and not just because I eat it too quickly). That is a mouthwatering image.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I can see I could quickly get into trouble in your town. My waistline elastic would be my weakness, lol.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why these are called weaknesses... to me, they fit better under the headline "Things I Like and That Make Me Feel Good". (Not me personally, of course, but you. Except for the patisserie, food in general, and of course getting post cards from friends - those things make me feel good, too.)
ReplyDeleteI think we share the same weaknesses when it comes to food :D
ReplyDeleteSO good to see you back. I don't remember ChrisJ from your first comment, but would love to see her come / or return to us; memory this year is not my strong suit. also love the shots of food, it is hard to capture so you've done better than well. I don't see chocolate sweets in your list of weaknesses that is definitely one of mine. working crosswords or other word games is not a weakness, is a necessity -
ReplyDeleteYum, pastries. One of my guilty pleasures. Another is doing a sudoku when I should be doing housework ... and when I read and don't get something done, and ... oh dear, I guess I'd better get back to work!! xoxox
ReplyDeletemy colleague previously from England has to do her crossword everyday.
ReplyDeleteYep, I share some of the same weaknesses. I'll post in FTSO later this evening.
ReplyDeleteOne man's weakness is another man's (or woman's ) everyday happenings! I don't have all the same as you but I'm happy to read yours and skip posting mine...I don't have enough time in the day to write that much!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Meike on this one. Apart from the last one I don't see your list as containing any weaknesses.
ReplyDeleteweakness, strength, whatever...as long as you enjoy them and not hurting anyone!
ReplyDeleteFun post. Like you (and probably everybody else) I have many. At the top is probably anything sweet, chocs, biscuits, cake for a start.
