The folk here provide food for the Hedgehogs but the lazy so-and-sos never seem to eat any.

 Excuse me chaps, coming through...

    1. Thank you, how kind. He / she was fairly tame or very hungry (or perhaps collecting food for youngsters) but it's the csmera really!

  2. These are the kind of rats we get that eat all the bird seed -- along with the ground squirrels. They are too cute-looking to be called rats, which usually call up more unpleasant images. But what amazingly long tails they have! Great photos.

    1. Yes, twice a day and his relatives are often to be seen around the garden which is fairly cat free at the moment.

    1. I knew you'd ask that. Judging by sharp delineation between brown fur above and white fur below I think it's a Yellow-necked Mouse.

  5. I do love mice! Sometimes I see some on the fields while walking, but not around the house and garden. Possibly the local cat population has seen to that.
Where I used to live before moving into this flat, we were all surrounded by old barns and stables. My old cat used to bring at least one mouse a day.
But I much prefer seeing them like this, enjoying a good meal without fear!

  9. Wonderful! I love these pictures. I'd be really thrilled if I'd taken them!

Your last letter is still in my inbox, waiting for a reply - I've not been at the computer much recently as you might know.

  10. You wrote some wonderful comments on one of my posts. In the comments you mentioned two things that I wanted to address via email, but I've looked and looked and don't see any.
One: I will be developing my other blog this summer ASAP after school is out (this Friday), and I will let you know when it is off and running.
Second: I thought I had followers on mine, but apparently I don't. What do I do once I click on its icon?
    Thanks.

  11. As a mouse lover I'm ashamed to say that I'd never heard of a Yellow-necked Mouse.

  12. Now I'd like a photo of a hedgehog. We don't have them here in Ohio, and since I first heard of them in "Alice in Wonderland" (about 80 years ago) I've always been curious.
