Tired

I had decided not to bore you with my health issues but then I thought – blow it, I’ve suffered, why shouldn’t you!

I’ve been in bed for the last two weeks – with the occasional exception of an hour or so - as a result of a fourteen day non-stop migraine (a record even for me) of which ten days were excruciating. Just to ice the cake I had a facial infection and the doctor has now identified that I’ve also got Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ). I’m sure that there is as board-room – or a bored-room - somewhere to which a group of medics retire after a boozy lunch to dream up this week’s new names for medical disorders. Yesterday I had my first migraine free day (it having eased off at 3 a.m.) for two weeks but sadly it’s back this morning though, thankfully, at a lower pain level. It remains to be seen how I get on over the next few days. If it all gradually goes away I shall be back blogging again. If not, please cancel Christmas and check back in the New Year….

I’m tired and I want to go to bed. That would make a good song, wouldn’t it…

  4. So, so sorry that you're dealing with this again. Darned migraines!!!! The TMJ is very common, it seems that I know a bunch of people with it - it too, can be such a bothersome issue and lead to migraines.

I do hope that you feel better soon, especially to enjoy the beauty of Christmas ♥

  5. You are never boring. I would like to complain more in my blog but I can't seem to do it. I think I have whinelogophobia. I do believe that doctors work on naming things. People want to know what they've got almost as much as wanting it cured. It's a real service from the medical community because we can't complain of some unnamed something.

  6. Migraines are the pits!!!

I used to get them, though I never have had one which lasted two weeks. But for some reason, they've stopped. Maybe it was retiring and getting rid of my contentious chain-smoking boss! Kidding, just kidding!

Anyway, hope you improve quickly. Sending best wishes from both Robin and me, hugs, Carol

  7. I'm sorry you are suffering-I know about migraines-suffered for years as a child, but I never heard of TMJ. I read about it on The Mayo Clinic website-sounds like a migraine X 100.
Hope that you find some combination of treatments to relieve the symptoms.

  9. Sciptor,
Oh, those migraines can be really bad, my mother-in-law has suffered with them for years. (You say MEE-GRAINES, and I say MY-GRAINES, even if it is the same word, Americans pronounce it differently!) Hope you are feeling better soon. (And we also say feeling "sick" when you would say "ill". Funny, isn't it?)

I have missed you terribly! Hope you are able to blog very soon.

  10. Oh dear - what a horrible time you've had. I guess this isn't the time to tell you about my friend with TMJ surgery.....
