Watering the flowers

In the line of her business, Partner-who-loves-tea and I went to Grange-over-Sands on Friday.  On the way back we called at the Riverside Cafe, part of the huge Barton Grange garden centre, north of Preston.  After a cappuccino I needed the loo and was reminded of a post GB once did on his NZ blog 'Loos I have known"

  1. Well, now I have seen it all! Someone has a very good sense of humor!

  2. I do NOT want to be the person that has to clean around all those ins and outs of art! It is lovey, though.

  7. Oh my, I love them! Wondering, any kind of similar art for the Ladies?
I recognize the poppy, calla lily and tulip but I don't know what the second one could be. Oh man, I just realized that I feel compelled to recognize flowers even in a men's room! HA!

  9. We once went into a restaurant with our niece and her husband. Vid went to use the loo and came back convulsed with laughter because there was a TV set above the urinals so that you wouldn't miss a second minute of the game on TV! However, I am disappointed to say that the women's loo did not offer the same amenity!

  10. Isn't the striped one a jack-in-the-pulpit?

  11. There's a sports bar in Indianapolis, Indiana that has the large TV screens mounted just above the island in the center of the bar, where the liquor is displayed. One back wall opposite the bar is covered in mirrors and has no tables, counter or bar stools in front of it, unlike the other three walls.

When you need to visit the gents, you'll find the entrance is outside the bar room. As you walk in, you'll find the line of 'loos' are on your left, and just above them you can see the bar and the TV screens - instead of the usual blank wall.

The mirrors, you see, are two-way glass and allow the patrons to dispose of their recycled beer while not missing the game.

  12. Very artistic, I notice there isn't a Dandelion, with its alleged diuretic properties. I've also visited Barton Grange, could have spent a fortune on plants, but just bought some seeds. Lovely place to visit.

  13. Oh Dear John. What can I say? How can I follow that? I am still laughing.
    Love to you both x

  14. Oh dear, you wouldn't want to be in a rush. It would take me a while to decide which one to water. They are fantastic! Beautiful to look at but hard to clean so I won't be installing any. Hah! I have a laugh just imagining myself as being so creative to even consider such a thing.
