Meek R.I.P.

Sadly we lost our second cat a couple of weeks ago and are now catless. Meek died peacefully in his sleep at home after being ill again for a few days.

Meek was fifteen and had been born with FIV which he had got from his mother. In theory he had a life expectancy of five or six years maximum and eighteen months ago he had a brief spell of being poorly and the vet was convinced he wouldn't survive.  He recovered and so all in all he did pretty well!

He is sorely missed.

  1. Sorry to hear about the sad loss of your two feline friends, Scriptor. I know I still miss mine, and they seem sometimes irreplaceable...

Glad to hear you are keeping well, and keeping newts well, from the looks of things too!

Wishing you every bit of luck with your novel - How exciting and how wonderful of you to have achieved such a difficult task - Most of us say we have a novel within us, but how many of us actually complete one - Congratulations and best of luck with the publishing world!

  4. It's never easy, ever. And an empty lap is a tough reminder.
I was glad to read, however, that it was peaceful.
    Hugs to you & Jo.

  5. So sorry for your loss. I only recently found your blog and fell in love with Meek. I also lost my cat Max who died in my arms at fifteen. I am sure he lived a full life because of the care you gave.

  6. I am so sorry you've had both your 'fur persons' pass away recently. Very sad and I know you will miss Meek very much. I loved the camouflage picture you posted just recently.

  7. Our family cat who came to live with us when I was 9 years old had FIV and survived a close shave with death; he went on almost another 10 years after that and was around 18 when he died. And of course, he was sorely missed, too.
So, I know how this feels and you have my sympathy.

  9. Dear Jo and John,

I have just read your blog about Meek. I am so sorry. He was a tough cookie taking all into account. He certainly had a good life with the Edwards family. It must be tough for you both at the moment.

    Love Pat x
