But Rossini looks cheerful enough doesn't he! (Usually recalling the first two lines is enough.) If I ever heard the 1812 story, I've forgotten! :)DawnTreaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04533307672147117843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684277511053973833.post-53285311359080449292017-02-28T18:10:54.872+00:002017-02-28T18:10:54.872+00:00Gee, that is depressing for those born on that day...Gee, that is depressing for those born on that day!Taborhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15257045780724471840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684277511053973833.post-24420490316352753202017-02-28T12:15:02.062+00:002017-02-28T12:15:02.062+00:00Gracious, then Feb. 30 in Sweden was the rarest bi...Gracious, then Feb. 30 in Sweden was the rarest birthday ever. Maybe the ancient Roman way of having February 24 twice for a leap year was better, at least as far as brith dates are concerned.messymimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10649529601786689712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684277511053973833.post-72185799790096498342017-02-28T10:04:04.580+00:002017-02-28T10:04:04.580+00:00Well, I am glad my birthday is on the 22nd of Marc...Well, I am glad my birthday is on the 22nd of March - that day is never dropped from the calendar, and I get to have proper birthday every year :-)<br />When I was a kid, we learned the length of the months by counting them off on the knuckles of our hands. Each knuckle was a "long" month (31 days), each "valley" between two knuckels was a shorter month. The two hands coming together with two knuckles in the middle are July and August, both 31 days long. I found this a very simple method, very easy to remember.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.com
