I, for example, am a baby boomer. A baby boomer is a person who was born during the demographic Post-World War II baby boom between the years 1946 and 1964. The term "baby boomer" is sometimes used in a cultural context.Scriptor Senexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17795521284516432520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684277511053973833.post-16941972268682627712012-02-07T09:32:07.169+00:002012-02-07T09:32:07.169+00:00I was pretty much a Kassettenkind (tape kiddie). Yes, that's an actual word, it means someone who listened to such stuff as Three Investigators on tape as a child, a really big thing in Germany (the original narrators of that series fill huge venues with their live readings today).

My first pop record was Massive Luxury Overdose by Army of Lovers and Turn It On Again by Genesis. I still have both and I still listen to them.???https://www.blogger.com/profile/00467285279627231933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684277511053973833.post-22229864868305285262012-02-04T19:23:02.952+00:002012-02-04T19:23:02.952+00:00Great nostalgia piece!

So much, that I painted a poster of Cape Cod and hung it on the wall of my bedroom where it hung for years....we moved out a few years later but for all I know, the poster may be still hanging in my old attic bedroom!!Canadian Chickadeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12995693884248628958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684277511053973833.post-67973600997193120742012-02-04T16:14:09.344+00:002012-02-04T16:14:09.344+00:00The fountain pens are trying to compete with the c...The fountain pens are trying to compete with the computers! Since they have no electricity to mess about with, their only weapon is the ink.

Being Swedish and born in the mid 50s I did not get to hear many English children's songs. I was probably around 11 when I started listening to pop music. Not sure which was the very first record I bought for myself. May have been The Hep Stars - they were the first I worshipped with posters all over my room etc, I think. (Not too bad a choice considering it included Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, later ABBA and several famous musicals.) And The Monkees. Especially Davy Jones!DawnTreaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04533307672147117843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5684277511053973833.post-85962812242875805972012-02-04T10:00:59.965+00:002012-02-04T10:00:59.965+00:00Confusingly - Pet Clark did two totally different ...Confusingly - Pet Clark did two totally different songs called Alone. I know the name but I couldn't recall the piece. I've just listened to it.
